LENT / SELF-SACRIFICE / WHAT MUST I DO???

Pray, we must pray. Jesus must have felt Eastermany emotions leading up to the time of His crucifixion. One fact our bibles tell us is that He prayed to His heavenly Father often.

Our Lord Jesus Christ teaches us to pray often and what we should ask from God. The Lord’s Prayer contains seven requests, but only one is for physical need. The others are for spiritual needs and the extension of God’s rule on earth.

In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus taught us that we should not be anxious for our physical needs. If we seek first God’s kingdom, Jesus said, all these things will be ours as well. Let us pray and work for the coming of God’s Kingdom, that the earth may be filled with God’s glory.

We pray as Jesus taught,

“Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your Name, your Kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us. Save us from the time of trial, and deliver us from evil. For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours, now and forever. Amen.”
