NATIONAL ALZHEIMER'S MONTH

Our Father and our God,

we are thankful that this is the day

that you have made and we can rejoice

and be glad in it.

Yet, invited or not, Thou art here!

Thus, Father, if our eyes

have been closed to thy graces, open them!

Let our minds be aware of  Thy

providential movement in our lives, and in the

quietness of this moment, let us be truly grateful.

Lord, we are thankful  for all of those who work for the

Alzheimer's Association of  Central Ohio, the Church network,

and volunteers who labor in this cause.

We encourage all caregivers who often feel alone,

useless, and overburdened -- even if they don't say so.

Please God, be

sensitive to their needs and provide moments of humor

relaxation for them and let them know they are not forgotten.

We ask Thy blessing on the food that has been prepared for the nourishment of our bodies.

Then send us from Thy presence to love as Thy children.

In Christ's name, we pray.  Amen.

Prayer given by Rev. Ethel Dunson

Alzheimer's Annual Meeting, 1997
